The super cat stove is among the simplest and lightest of alcohol stoves. I would also venture to say that it's probably one of the more popular stoves for those reasons. The only items needed are a can of catfood, (check out Andrew Skurka's video for instructions to make your own)a hole punch, and a pen or marker to help with hole spacing.
This stove is VERY inexpensive. If you have a pet cat, you really won't experience any extra costs. I, myself, do not have a cat, nor did I have a hole punch. So I had to shell out .47 for the cat food and .97 for the hole punch to build the stove. Build time for this stove was less than 5 minutes and the stove weighed in at less than 1/4 oz. I mentioned that I wanted to decrease weight at a minimal cost, for this I totaled around $1.60 with tax.
